Infrastructure Resources

The Hub will house high-tech, environmentally progressive buildings in an unparalleled central location. Nowhere else can you find a facility that sits at the forefront of technology, boasts a diminutive environmental footprint, and is surrounded by the most sophisticated rail, intermodal, and highway infrastructure in the country.

Interstate Highways (I-20, I-35, I-45, and Loop 9) – The Hub is the only logistics park in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex adjacent to three major interstate highways without major traffic congestion issues. Located in southern Dallas County, The Hub is the area’s first point of entry for western and southern trade routes. This location eliminates the need for trucks to travel through congested urban areas, thus lowering drayage expenses for tenants at The Hub.

Lancaster Airport – Located on 306 acres and neighboring The Hub, city-owned and operated Lancaster Airport is positioned to serve as the new premier aviation facility for the Metroplex. The airport features a 5,000’ x 100’ asphalt runway capable of accommodating single engine as well as large corporate aircraft. Immediate plans are underway for a runway expansion from 5,000’ to 6,500’ and eventually 8,000’ to support larger corporate jets as well as freight capacity. To accommodate the requirements of corporate aviation and future expansion, pro-active infrastructure improvements on the runway, taxiways, lighting, hangars, utilities and Automated Weather Observation Systems have recently been made to Lancaster Airport. City leaders are working to design a future cargo-compatible runway as well as working to protect land surrounding the airport from residential encroachment with a “LanPort District.” This district prevents non-compatible uses in both the immediate and long-term future of the area.

UP Dallas Intermodal Terminal (DIT) - The 360-acre DIT is located just 12 miles from downtown Dallas, within the city limits of Hutchins and Wilmer. Designed to support the growing intermodal volume in the region, this central location provides quick access to the counties that comprise 97% of the Dallas Metroplex population, and serves as the “gateway” for international goods to the major population centers in the central and eastern United States.

Proposed BNSF Intermodal Facility – In the Spring of 2007, The Allen Group announced the execution of an agreement granting Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway (BNSF) the right to purchase land within The Hub as the next step in evaluating the possibility of developing a new intermodal facility.
