Manzanillo

Manzanillo is Mexico's leading Pacific port, with shipping lines serving the Pacific Rim, and, via the Panama Canal, the eastern seaboard of the Americas. It can host most kinds of ships.

Manzanillo is the only port in Mexico capable of double-stacking containers onto railcars, providing efficient movement of cargo by a private railroad company, Ferromex, throughout Mexico and as far as the Texas border 1,000 miles away

Lazaro Cardenas

Located in the State of Michoacan, Lazaro Cardenas Terminal Portuaria de Contenedores (LCT) is a highly industrial deepwater port. The terminal is significantly closer to Mexico City than Manzanillo, the only other Mexican Pacific port serving this important market. LCT is a single-berth terminal with on-dock rail facilities and the development rights to an 85-hectare deepwater, green field site.

The port has an important connection with the most important Multimodal Corridor in the Country. This corridor goes across Mexico by the Middle and from San Luis Potosi join to nasco Corridor through NAFTA Highway..

Tampico

Tampico ranks as the second most important seaport after Veracruz at national level. It is located in the State of Tamaulipas on the Gulf of Mexico. It was developed to provide service to the companies in the area such as Pemex, BASF Mexicana, Cromton Corporation, Cryoinfra, Dupont, Petro-chem Mexicana and Polioles. It has public terminals.

The port of Tampico has important land connections, as it is just 290.8 miles (468 km) away from Mexico City, 305.7 miles (492 km) from United States border and 329.3 miles (530 km) from Monterrey. Highway and railway networks connect major industrial areas and agricultural zones located in the states of Aguascalientes, Coahuila, Estado de Mexico, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Nuevo Leon, San Luis Potosi, Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Zacatecas as well as Mexico City.

Veracruz

Veracruz is located in the state with the same name on the Gulf of Mexico and is the largest commercial port in the country

Veracruz is the gateway for the automobile industry. In 2004, the port handled 70% of the total 687,000 automobiles that shipped in and out of the country.

The Integral Port Administration (API) of Veracruz unveiled in 2003 a US$295 million development plan to enlarge the port's infrastructure and expand operations by 2010.
