North America's Supercorridor Coalition launches Inland Port Web Site - October 24, 2005

The North American Inland Port Network (NAIPN), a sub-committee of NASCO, was tasked with developing an active inland port network along our corridor to specifically alleviate congestion at maritime ports and our nation’s borders. The NAIPN envisions an integrated, efficient and secure network of inland ports specializing in the transportation of containerized cargo in North America. The main guiding principal of the NAIPN is to develop logistics systems that enhance global security, but at the same time do not impede the costeffective and efficient flow of goods.

One of the sub-committee’s first deliverables was to develop a comprehensive Web site to raise the awareness of individual inland ports within the International Mid-Continent Trade Corridor and bring attention to NAIPN. The new site enables NAIPN members to provide detailed information on their specific inland port operations through an innovative project demonstration section built into the Web site.

Please visit the NAIPN section of the NASCO Web site to view the new inland port portal!
