Central Mexican Inland Ports

Business Focus

The Central Mexican Region is North America’s Strategic Southern Inland Port Region.

The mission of the Central Mexican Inland Ports initiative is to promote and enhance Central Mexico’s status as a premiere Inland Port Solution Provider and to contribute to its emergence as a competitive international trade center and cluster of strategic international services facilities. The Initiative will provide Global Corporate decision makers with strategic information to understand the benefits of doing business in the Central Mexico region.  The Initiative will also strive to promote, develop and facilitate business, trade and job creation within Central Mexico as well as other major economic centers in Mexico.

The Central Mexican Region uniquely connects Mexico’s four major maritime ports, Manzanillo and Lazaro Cardenas on the Pacific and Veracruz and Tampico & Altamira on the Gulf of Mexico. These maritime ports feed an efficient network of rail infrastructure served by both Kansas City Southern de Mexico and Ferromex. The Central Mexico Region is the only place in the nation where these two major railroads intersect, providing new opportunities for development at these intersections.

The Central Mexican Region encompasses seventeen (17) Mexican States. Each of the States’ Ministries of Economic Development are committed to promoting trade and transportation in their States and each are supporting their Inland Ports as Economic Engines.

The Region is business friendly, home to many major Global Corporations and establishes connectivity to corporate interests worldwide seeking solutions to manufacturing, assembly and distribution to global markets. State of the Art transportation, logistics and operational facilities at multiple locations in Central Mexico provide secure and stable economic opportunities for profitable business strategies. Major Business Clusters include Automotive, Aviation/Aerospace, Electronics, Home Appliances, Plastics, Metal Parts, Agriculture and Retail.
